Hi, I'm Anne
I have spent the last three years supporting emerging leaders to feel more confident and build their emotional intelligence to create more impact.
The ten years before that, I was a senior leader in the male-dominated engineering industry myself and experienced what it means to be a courageous leader in the face of challenges.
I still remember what it felt like. There were many weeks and months where I felt exhausted, and I was worried I would fail. On the one hand, I knew that I had the ability to be a great leader, but on the other hand, self-doubt kept creeping in whenever I felt out of depth. And to be honest, as a leader, you feel a little out of depth most of the time.
I tried to look at the leaders above me to learn from them. I thought I had to become more like them. But what I soon realised was that it did not feel like me. It did not align with my values and strengths.
I knew there had to be another, a better way.
And so, I went on a quest to become the best leader I could be. I studied emotional intelligence and practised self-awareness and self-regulation. I learned communication strategies, explored effective feedback conversations and invested in understanding and applying my leadership strengths.
And the result was that I turned into a confident leader that led from her values, even when it meant making some tough decisions and challenging some old-school thinking.
Today I know that there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to leadership. What people trust and respect is authenticity. It’s not just what you know but who you are that makes you an inspiring leader.
And here is what I realised: It is time for a leadership revolution.
There is no room anymore for authority-driven leadership that uses shame and scare tactics to create results. It is time to challenge bad leadership when we see it and show that we stand for more.
And so today, as a certified CliftonStrengths and Emotional intelligence Coach, I support my clients to drive the change in the leadership world.
I support leaders who want to feel confident to lead with courage, authenticity, and with their values.
The Lead Like YOU! Program combines my most powerful leadership lessons and tools to help you be your best self as a leader. I believe that what makes you unique makes you powerful.
